1. DUNEDIN: TALK, WEDNESDAY, 15 AUGUST

Alison McCulloch will give a talk, “The History of the Abortion Rights Struggle in New Zealand”, at the University of Otago, 7:30 p.m., at the OUSA Clubs and Societies Centre. (The Otago room  Room 6 of the OUSA Clubs and Societies building, on Albany street across from the Uni Library.) Many thanks to ISO Aotearoa for organising this. Visit their event page.  ISO Aotearoa has a Facebook Page around their pro-choice counter-protests at Dunedin Hospital, where anti-abortionists gather weekly.

2. INVERCARGILL: MEETING: THURSDAY 16 AUGUST:

3. INVERCARGILL TALK: FRIDAY 17 AUGUST, SIT:

ALRANZ member, journalist and author Dr. Alison McCulloch will give a talk on “The History of the Abortion Rights Struggle in New Zealand” at Southern Institute of Technology’s Hanson Hall on Friday 17 August, 1 p.m. – 2 p.m. The talk is based around her book, forthcoming in 2013, on the same topic, and will situate the current debate in Southland in a wider historical and political context.
